Additional Storm Preparation information:

  • Ameren Missouri prepares throughout the entire year for bad weather days.
  • We actively monitor the weather through a weather service so we can allocate resources to areas of our state that might be impacted ahead of the storm.
  • We are currently placing crews on standby and will deploy them to any areas sustaining outages, once it's safe for our crews to travel.
  • We also position storm trailers that are packed with restoration equipment is areas that could be impacted, which saves our crews time.
  • Our system is built to sustain high winds.
  • We remind customers to stay away from down power lines and report immediately by calling 800.552.7583
  • Over the last several years we have been strengthening our system through our Smart Energy Plan that included stronger utility poles and power lines, and smart equipment that can detect an outage on the system and re-route a customer's power until we can make repairs.
  • Customers can prepare for a potential power outage by making sure their cell photo is fully charged so they can communicate, and have a storm kit with blankets, flashlights and other emergency items.
